Newton Christian School

Training to a Higher Standard

Mrs. Lisa Davis

Art Teacher

Education:  Bachelor of Arts, K-12 Visual Arts, Indiana State University

Mrs. Davis currently teaches art at all grade levels to students at Newton Christian.  She has taught art in many different venues, such as public schools in Indiana, the Super Saturday program at Purdue, two public libraries in Indiana and Washington, an art museum in California, art camps for church outreach in California and provided regular scheduled art classes for Valley Christian Home Educators, a K-12 enrichment program for home school families in California.

She and her husband have been married for 27 years and have two children.  Their daughter is working on her Master's degree and their son is a junior in college.

Mrs. Davis believes art can be used to glorify God.  For God is "the original Creator and Designer."  She sees her students as designers while they work out visual problems in her art classes.  Each year her goal is to get the students' art out in the community as a ministry to make an impact.
